There are the Sileni- creatures who look like pink skinned demons, but are actually muses with mind control powers. Hunt tells his own story and creates his own universe.

There is quite a bit of action as these g. The only regret I have about the book is that it is over. God is creating a new reality. Hunt's characters are easy to imagine as real, even as they bring to life characters that are not human. The idea of the parallel universe travel has been done several times over, and the author does doe a fine job of it, but I just felt like I was reading a copy of Stephen King's 'Dark Tower' series.
