However, you would miss out on a deeply personal, moving, and enriching journey through the complex and powerful history of Black American women in popular music. She wrote about this and so many other moments where Black women shared their pain and it was invisible.
But after I finished reading, as I was reading other people's reviews, I felt vindicated.
