Key In Ignition Chime Won't Stop
In the meantime, do y'all have any ideas? When i put my key in the egnition it pushes in which makes the know that there is a key in there. I definitely want to disable the chime too. Keeps the chime from going off when I open the door. Door chime removal with keyed ignition. Car sat for 3 days in this cold and started fine. Cleaned it all off with a grease eating enzyme cleaner, let it air dry in the sun, plugged it back in, and now everything works!!

You can unplug the door open signal wires from the gong and retain the OBC gong sounds. Any ideas as to the fix? Images (Click to enlarge). I can't think of anything else that would cause this. With the key in the ignition, even partially, engine off and door open, it dings..... a lot, and loudly. Make sure you have your brake fluid full first. I didn't take any pictures, because I wasn't entirely sure it was going to work, but through some messing around I found that any object pressed into the ignition with the door open will cause the chime to start, so there must be a switch inside the cylinder. If anyone would like pics of said module, let me know... chewie65. Hate that stupid chime. Yes I have read others with this problem and no solutions listed. I have aftermarket headunit. Key in ignition chime won't stop meme. Maybe your door sensors are signalling the door is open, so when you turn the key out of run, the chime is saying 'don't forget your keys'. It will only go off for the first 20 seconds, after starting the vehicle. I am not sure but I think the door ajar only happens if the keys are in the ignition.

The door chime contact next to the ignition cylinder has fallen out of the slot that it belongs in, it can be glued back in place. I will do this soon ^^^. I thought playing the radio without the key would be kinda handy. Stops as soon as I close the driver door. Once that cam is out, you can leave the key in the ignition and when you open the door you won't get the annoying ding. 2020 Ford Edge Titanium. What am I supposed to do? It also gongs once to indicate the temp is about the freezing point and it gongs once each time the preset speed alarm set point is exceeded. I get no chime on accessory. I am postulating that the bad ignition switch had an internal failure causing both the chime and drain. Then your instrument panel fuse out turn car on and off then reinsert instrument panel fuse. Is it possible to disable the key in ignition chime. My 2011 allows me to disable the chime for seatbelts (special ignition key / insert-remove seatbelt sequence) The dash light is still there if your not wearing your seat belt but the chime is silent. Just unplug it and tape it up.
