It's like a lifetime movie but still pretty likeable characters and a fast read. I would recommend this book to any woman I respect or love--it is a feminist text, but the women are certainly not "angry housewives. " The world changes but all remain tight, all the way to menopause and telltale gray hairs. You exceeded the mission, you crushed the goals. The book club survives through the hippie world of the sixties, the political awareness of the seventies, the fashion of the eighties and finally the nineties. Our book club has read over 100 books together in the past 15 years, and we are still going strong. It is real and heartfelt.
