The other thing which I think might irk people, it's, I mean, it certainly took a little bit of persuading with the studio was I didn't want to release the, you know, the normal thing is you release the soundtrack two weeks beforehand. Which at the end of the day, I mean, isn't that what it's all about? Hans Zimmer: And it's-- The music is really big.

Hans Zimmer: But it's only 150, do you know what I mean? A good question to ask before taking your wallet out is: ' Will this really help me progress in my career of Film Score Composing? He goes, "No, no, it's not going to be that Gladiator movie. " Which wasn't an entirely healthy way of living. ZIMMER: I think about this frequently, I mean, I'm homeless, in a funny way. The short answer is it depends. So, plus I think I was born with a healthy disdain of authority, which is not a good thing if you're in Germany. That place where you can send people to succinctly show what you're about. ZIMMER: It was great you know.

But really the crux of the matter is I have a son, he's 16 years old and he was 14 at the time. ZIMMER: This is a Penny Marshall, 3:00 AM in the morning advice and I still live by it. There's no way that the Tom Cruise character can look after his brother for the rest of his life. Anyone familiar with electronic music production who wants to branch out into different genres. While other kids liked to play games, he liked to play the piano. ZIMMER: Pretty good. You're not going to get those insights or golden nuggets of advice by not putting yourself out there socially. Creativity is the synergy of different ideas.
